halloween

This evening I went to the local Halloween festivities held in front of the "Park-n-shop" about 5 blocks from where I'm staying in 中山, 中国(ZhongShan, China). Although they don't celebrate Halloween in the same way as we do in the U.S (i.e. going door to door asking for candy) they definitely celebrate it. Tons of people were in costume although there were probably 10 times as many people simply watching the crazy costumed group.

Today is October 31st and its Halloween in China! Oh wait.. they don't celebrate it. Well at least not in the "small" towns like 中山 (ZhongShan). When you think about it its kind of funny (ironic?) considering that >90% of the costumes used in the countries that do celebrate Halloween are made in China.
