Our little place in Harlem
Sadly we must find a person to take over the lease on our one bedroom apartment. It would be too much to try to hang onto the apartment (i.e. sublet it) and manage it while we are in China. The apartment's location was great to us when we worked at MNN as it was only two express stops to Columbus circle on the A or D trains. It is also near the Riverbank state park, the greenway bike/run/jog/path, tennis courts, and a decent walk to the Cloisters.
During the winter months Diana and I would walk to Riverbank state park to swim in the indoor olympic-sized swimming pool, workout in the super-cheap gyms, or go ice skating. We both relied on the easy access to the greenway bike paths to get to/from MNN, Fairway supermarket and all around Manhattan. Its also a decent walk to the Cloisters state park as well as many other parks.
It turns out that this summer the street is also a play street! So no cars will be allowed on the street from 8am to 5pm Monday - Friday. Since I'm working from home these days, I think this is great! (I also think its great because I think cars shouldn't be in the city).
The apartment is located on 151st between Amsterdam and Broadway (View the location on OnNyTurf). Six blocks from the A, D express trains, the B, C local trains and 4 blocks from the #1 train. All are a few minutes (<5) walk from the apartment (Roughly 15-20 minute commute to Columbus Circle).
Pictures are worth a 1,000 words
There is a full sized bed in the bedroom, the bathroom contains a full size shower/bathtub and the kitchen has a four burner gas stove as well as a full size refrigerator.
I'm really, really sad to let this place go but I'm incredibly excited about our move to China! Hopefully somebody really nice get this apartment....
